Responsibilities
Technical & Maintenance:
Assembly & Repair: Build new batteries and install cables/accessories. Disassemble cells to inspect for defects and fuse lead parts using a gas torch.
Diagnostics: Use meters to analyze battery health and adjust charge parameters to control current flow and timing.
Chemical Handling: Carefully add acid or water to obtain specified concentrations.
Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections to determine the source of problems and recommend repair or replacement.
Warehouse & Logistics:
Equipment Operation: Safely operate Counterbalance (CB) and Reach trucks to move heavy batteries per OSHA requirement s.
Inventory Management: Match and stock parts received from the National Parts Center; replenish orders for locations across Canada.
Fulfillment: Pack batteries, chargers, and parts for customer orders and Service Technicians.
Documentation: Maintain accurate performance records and service reports.
Qualifications
Certification: Must have valid certification and experience operating Counterbalance and Reach forklifts.
Technical Aptitude: Experience with hand tools and gas torches is preferred; ability to read electrical meters is a must.
Industry Experience: Previous experience in a chemical warehouse or battery service environment is considered a major asset.
Physical Requirements: Ability to handle heavy materials and work in a warehouse service environment.
Compliance: Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).
