For our Retail Sales Associate positions, we are seeking charismatic, goal-oriented professionals who thrive on human connection. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be the face of a big furniture brand in Calgary, guiding customers through their buying journey, answering design questions, and closing sales. You will leverage your expertise in sales & marketing to understand client needs, recommend the perfect home furnishing solutions, and exceed daily performance targets. Responsibilities
- Assisting customers and providing advice on the best solutions for their homes
• Maintain and optimize the visual presentation of the furniture showroom floor to align with corporate sales & marketing standards.
• Assemble, move, and arrange heavy furniture pieces, displays, and decorative accessories safely and efficiently.
• Greet showroom walk-ins warmly, building an immediate rapport with customers to determine their lifestyle and home furnishing needs.
• Provide expert product knowledge regarding furniture materials, dimensions, warranties, and customization options to drive sales.
• Process customer transactions, financing applications, and delivery schedules accurately using the store’s point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Collaborate with the inventory and warehouse teams to ensure stock availability and accurate pricing tags on the floor.
• Achieve and exceed individual and team monthly sales targets through proactive customer engagement and upselling techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment for customers and colleagues at all times.
Qualifications
• Ability to commit fully to the designated shift schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada for any employer at the time of application submission.
• Must be able to commute reliably to the designated retail showroom locations in Calgary (including South East Calgary).
• Prior experience in a furniture retail environment or high-ticket sales setting is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational background; further certification in interior design or marketing is an asset.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs safely.
