As a WebMethods Integration Specialist, you will bridge the gap between enterprise asset management platforms, service request portals, field service management systems, and core business applications. Operating in Toronto, you will lead the rearchitecting of the integration platform for High Availability (HA) and redundancy, refactor legacy point-to-point connections into modern service-oriented patterns, and optimize middleware infrastructure across development, test, and production environments. This position demands a technical middleware authority with expert-level proficiency in Software AG / IBM WebMethods who can enforce integration best practices, configure secure REST/SOAP APIs, and deliver smooth knowledge transfer to internal engineering teams.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy robust data integrations connecting enterprise asset management systems, service request tools, and field service management solutions.
Rearchitect and design the WebMethods infrastructure to establish a high-availability, redundant, and disaster-resilient platform topology.
Review current middleware infrastructure, perform performance tuning, conduct capacity evaluations, and implement operational optimization recommendations.
Refactor existing point-to-point system integrations into modern, decoupled enterprise integration patterns and service-oriented architectures.
Administer and support middleware infrastructure across development, test, and production environments, including installation, patching, upgrades, and monitoring.
Develop, secure, and manage RESTful APIs, SOAP Web Services, XML/JSON transformations, and custom Java/JDBC integration components.
Configure security frameworks, SSL certificates, authentication controls, and access policies across integration gateways.
Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, and technical leads to elicit requirements, document interface specifications, and lead technical reviews.
Establish internal integration standards, process frameworks, and comprehensive technical design documentation.
Provide structured knowledge transfer, technical mentoring, and operational runbooks to internal staff resources.

WebMethods Platform Mastery: Extensive experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions using WebMethods (Integration Server, Designer, Trading Networks, API Gateway, Universal Messaging).
Enterprise System Integrations: Demonstrated expertise connecting major enterprise platforms (including CRM, enterprise asset management, and field service tools) to core business systems.
API & Web Services Proficiency: In-depth experience developing and securing REST and SOAP Web Services, XML, XSLT, JSON, Java, JDBC, JNDI, and LDAP integrations with relational databases (Oracle).
Middleware Administration: Extensive experience administering WebMethods infrastructure across multi-tier environments, including installation, configuration, security management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Architecture & Design Patterns: Strong knowledge of API development, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), High Availability (HA) design, and Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP).
Education: University degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Assets & Certifications
Software AG / IBM Certifications: Official WebMethods development, architecture, or administration certifications are considered strong assets.
Advanced Integration Tooling: Practical experience with message queues, enterprise service buses, and cloud integration gateways.
