Responsibilities
*Directly oversee the daily operations of the welding department to ensure production targets are met with maximum efficiency.
*Enforce rigorous compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and internal safety protocols to maintain a zero-incident environment.
*Conduct thorough inspections of finished welds to verify they meet all engineering specifications and industry codes.
*Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and technical training of fitters and welders to maintain high craftsmanship standards.
*Collaborate with engineering and sales departments to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality components to clients.
*Monitor departmental expenses and implement cost-control measures to reduce waste and optimize resource investment.
Qualifications
*Must possess a valid CWB Supervisor Certificate and have a thorough understanding of CSA W47.1.
*Minimum of 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing supervisory position.
*At least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience within the welding industry, specifically with TSSA / CWB Welding Tickets.
*Proven ability to interpret complex manufacturing drawings, including P&ID, General Arrangement, and Piping blueprints.
*Required proficiency in operating an overhead crane; a forklift license is considered a significant asset.
*Possession of a Welding Inspector Level 1 Certificate from CWB or TSSA Pipe/Structural certifications (6G or 1G) is highly preferred.
