As a Wire Cutting Associate within the manufacturing & logistics field, you will operate specialized wire-cutting equipment, maintain inventory accuracy using WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and ensure all products meet strict quality standards before shipment. By aligning with O*Net standards for Cutting and Punching Machine Operators, this role emphasizes strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical order documents, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Review sales orders, transfer documents, and picking tickets to confirm product requirements
• Accurately measure and cut wire and cable to the required lengths
• Operate wire-cutting equipment safely and efficiently
• Verify wire type, gauge, color, quantity, and length before cutting
• Label, coil, package, and secure wire for shipment or customer pickup
• Prevent product damage and inspect wire and cable for visible defects before processing
• Record cut lengths and update inventory information accurately
• Maintain an organized and clean wire-cutting area
• Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies
• Communicate shortages, damaged product, equipment issues, or order discrepancies to the supervisor
• Work cooperatively with the warehouse team to support accurate and timely order fulfillment
Skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measuring and labeling
• Ability to read and interpret product descriptions, measurements, and order documents
• Basic math skills, including the ability to work confidently with measurements and fractions
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Qualifications
Requirements
• Previous warehouse, material-handling, or wire-cutting experience is a strong asset
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull wire and cable products safely (50+ lbs)
• Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently bend, reach, and kneel
• Ability to handle products of varying weights and sizes using proper lifting techniques
• Mandatory use of required personal protective equipment (safety footwear, gloves, eye protection)
• Commitment to reporting hazards, following lockout procedures, and never bypassing safety guards
• Reliable attendance and a positive, professional attitude
