One of our reputable Federal Government clients is undertaking a major initiative to modernize its enterprise IT service delivery capabilities by upgrading to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced Catalog (DWPC) version 25.0. The goal of this transformation is to enhance the end-user experience, increase automation across internal and external systems, and reduce the reliance on legacy custom development by fully leveraging out-of-the-box features available in the latest DWPC release.
This initiative supports our clients broader digital modernization goals by integrating chatbot functionality, streamlining service request processes, and improving overall operational efficiency through cloud-based automation and self-service capabilities.
To support this upgrade, we are seeking a part-time, fully remote Application/Software Architect with deep expertise in BMC Helix Digital Workplace. The selected Architect will lead the architectural assessment, design, migration planning, and implementation of the upgraded platform—ensuring technical alignment, minimal service disruption, and successful adoption of new features.
As this role involves coordination with both technical teams and internal stakeholders, candidates must be fluently bilingual in English and French and possess experience working in complex, bilingual federal government environments. Apply today!

Responsibilities
Lead the assessment of the current DWPC 20.02 environment and identify upgrade readiness and system gaps
Gather and analyze business and technical requirements to support the DWPC 25.0 architecture design
Architect and design the DWPC 25.0 solution, including workflow optimization using enhanced OOTB features
Refactor and migrate legacy workflows while eliminating unnecessary customizations
Plan and oversee the implementation of new features such as chatbot integration, mobile-responsive UI, and enhanced notifications
Architect and guide the deployment of self-service capabilities (onboarding/offboarding, hardware/software requests, password resets)
Design and manage integrations with Microsoft Azure (AD, SSO, MFA), TCD, finance systems, and smart lockers
Define and implement automation strategies for account provisioning, approvals, and access management via cloud APIs
Implement and configure monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards to ensure system reliability and transparency
Lead process optimization initiatives to enhance workflow performance and reduce manual effort
Oversee retirement of obsolete forms, filters, and legacy configurations
Ensure the creation of architectural documentation, integration diagrams, migration playbooks, and rollback procedures
Provide technical leadership during knowledge transfer and training sessions for ITSM and support teams
Qualifications
Valid Secret-level Government of Canada security clearance.
Fluently bilingual in English and French.
5+ years of experience in designing, configuring, customizing, or implementing BMC Remedy or BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog (DWPC) in enterprise environments.
Proven experience delivering complex IT Service Management solutions on BMC platforms, including upgrades, administration, and third-party integrations.
5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing complex, dynamic workflows within DWPC that automate business processes and integrate with external systems (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, HR, finance).
Demonstrated ability to design and develop custom workflows tailored to unique client requirements.
Experience with BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog version 21.x or higher, including workflow optimization and leveraging enhanced OOTB functionality.
Strong experience integrating DWPC workflows with cloud platforms, identity management systems (e.g., Azure AD, Microsoft AD), and APIs for provisioning, approvals, etc.
Proficiency with REST and SOAP APIs, and working knowledge of XML, JSON, and HTML for system integration and data formatting.
Solid understanding and experience administering and supporting systems on Windows and Linux environments.
Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and logging to support service reliability and operational transparency.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience in providing technical leadership.
