Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and leadership in category management to achieve overarching business objectives.
Develop and update relevant strategies for each sub-category under your direct responsibility.
Translate strategic plans into a continuous pipeline of prioritized sourcing projects within internal tracking tools.
Lead contract negotiations with vendors to optimize total costs while effectively balancing operational risks.
Conduct regular commercial analyses with strategic vendors to ensure optimal performance and service delivery.
Develop and maintain strong alliances with key internal business units and external stakeholders.
Identify and promote process improvement initiatives by adopting agile and pragmatic principles.
Support senior management in implementing sustainable changes related to corporate sourcing methods.
Qualifications
University degree in procurement, business, finance, or engineering, or a recognized professional certification in supply chain management.
5 to 7 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing or category management.
Strong negotiation skills and highly demonstrated business acumen.
Proficiency with digital tools including standard office suites, enterprise resource planning systems, and cloud procurement platforms.
Strong ability to collaborate effectively and influence decision-makers in a constantly evolving environment.
Results-oriented mindset, high autonomy, and excellent time management skills.
Flawless mastery of both spoken and written French and English, an essential requirement for interacting with international partners.
**Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties.
Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.**
