Responsibilities
What YOU will be doing as the Claims Operations Associate:
• Oversight and maintenance of the claims inbox, including claims intake - reviewing claims, determining what type of claim, opening, assigning and acknowledging the claim, closing out claims.
• Accurately entering payments, recoveries and reserve transactions across multiple lines of business.
• Ensure claims processing follows the established processes, procedure, and various agreements and protocols.
• Providing loss runs to underwriters when requested Initiating cash calls for programs handled by outside adjusters.
• Processing of bordereaux – receive, review and input claims information received by way of various bordereaux into the claims system.
• Communicate with and assign panel adjusters and counsel for claims, when required and ensure claims and programs are handled in accordance with established agreements and processes.
• Serve as a point of contact for claims department with questions pertaining to claims operations procedures and processes.
Qualifications
What YOU bring to the table:
• The ideal combination of education and experience including:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in insurance claims or relevant field
- C13 – Fundamentals of Insurance or CIP (preferred)
• Experience working on a team within the Insurance industry.
• Auto experience and regulatory experience with GISA (preferred).
• Knowledge in multiple lines of business; professional and financial lines, commercial, warranty, auto etc.
• Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrates ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Advanced proficiency and experience using Excel.
• A high level of attention to detail.
• A proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, driving for results.
• Experience working closely with others and enjoy an atmosphere of cross-collaboration.
• The ability to thrive in a fast paced and changing environment and be comfortable with ambiguity.
• Superb customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook).
• Bilingual (English/French) preferred but not required.
