Responsibilities
Here are the responsibilities for this Software Developer – AI Specialist at this retail leader in Montreal;
Software Programming:
Design and develop core software applications for products supporting individuals with visual impairments.
AI Model Development:
Lead the creation, implementation, and optimization of specialized artificial intelligence features and models.
Systems Integration:
Integrate advanced AI components into mobile, wearable, and complex software systems.
Feature Design & Analysis:
Participate in user requirements gathering, technical feature analysis, and design specifications for product solutions.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Troubleshoot, debug, and implement new software features on embedded multi-platform environments.
Estimation & Documentation:
Provide technical recommendations, development time estimations, and maintain high-quality software documentation.
Advanced Processing:
Contribute to specialized projects involving embedded image and video processing functionalities.
Qualifications
Here are the qualifications required for this Software Developer – AI Specialist at this retail leader in Montreal;
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in software development and AI engineering.
Advanced proficiency in Python and programming languages commonly used in AI architecture.
Strong mastery of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages such as C, C++, C#, and/or Java.
Proven experience deploying software on embedded operating systems (Android, Linux, or Windows CE).
Bilingualism (English and French), both written and spoken, is required to collaborate effectively with international partners.
Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving abilities, and an innovative, self-driven approach.
Assets: Experience with OpenGL, advanced image/video processing, and a passion for technologies helping the visually impaired.
