This senior technical role involves developing an internal FX Derivative risk monitoring system using the Spring Boot framework. As the first technical position in the Toronto center, it requires independent work and close collaboration with the local Pod lead. The role also includes working with a global, energetic, and diverse team that fosters open communication.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Spring Boot applications.
• Collaborate with other team members, mainly China, London and Toronto to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Ensure application security and data protection.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Delivering bug fixes to production using continuous delivery methodologies
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
• Contribute to Monitoring and alerting Control
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with Apache Ignite
• Investment Banking IT background desirable, as is experience of working for front office project.
• Knowledge of FX Derivative business
• Previous experience working in DevOps and High Performance teams
• Experience working as part of a geographically diverse team
Qualifications
MUST HAVES:
• Experience with microservices framework
• 5+ years of experience with Java 7+ and Spring Boot.
• Previous banking experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Must have strong technical knowledge on Consul or other service discovery software (such as Eureka, Zookeeper)
• Must have strong technical knowledge on any UNIX Shellscripts and Groovy
• Experience with Stash or other version control systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure without sacrificing accuracy and quality.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with Apache Ignite
