We are seeking a motivated Business Analyst - Junior for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Toronto. As a junior SAP business analyst, you will bridge the gap between financial end-user operations, system developers, and project leadership. Operating within a hybrid work model, you will support the hypercare support model for core financial streams, write detailed functional specifications, build comprehensive test cases, and assist with end-user training. This position is ideal for a financial analyst with hands-on SAP FI/CO experience who can analyze complex workflows, enforce internal financial controls, and support system enhancement rollouts.
Location: Toronto, ON
Assignment Type: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
Contract Duration: 12-month contract (with potential 6-month extension)

Responsibilities
Document, analyze, and refine detailed business requirements and functional specifications for system changes.
Support post-implementation hypercare activities, including defect triage, risk identification, and resolution strategy formulation.
Prepare functional design specifications for development objects, collaborating closely with technical development teams.
Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, user stories, and test scenarios across functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Identify inefficiencies within financial workflows and recommend process improvements enabled by SAP solutions.
Maintain SAP business process documentation and repositories to ensure compliance with financial standards and internal policies.
Assist in developing end-user training materials, system documentation, and supporting operational transition to sustainment teams.
Analyze complex financial data and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline day-to-day accounting operations.
Author options papers, key decision documents, status reports, and analytical summaries to support project leadership decision-making.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & SAP Experience
SAP Finance Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in SAP Finance roles, including hands-on system implementation, configuration support, and end-user assistance.
SAP Module Proficiency: Strong proficiency across SAP Financial Modules (FI, CO), Materials Management (MM), and an understanding of SAP integration points with adjacent enterprise systems.
SAP S/4HANA & Fiori: Solid working familiarity with SAP S/4HANA environments and SAP Fiori reporting tools.
SAP BA Delivery Experience: Extensive project-based experience as a Business Analyst within SAP system rollouts, enhancement cycles, or hypercare support models.
Public Sector / Municipal Accounting: Direct experience in municipal accounting or relevant private sector financial accounting and reporting environments.
Education / Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, completion of a professional accounting designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical & Testing Capabilities
SDLC Lifecycle Artifacts: Proven experience preparing functional specifications, gap analyses, solution scoping, testing documentation, and process maps.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Experience creating and documenting unit, functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance tests.
Soft Skills & Collaboration
Communication & Training: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience facilitating end-user training and stakeholder walkthroughs.
Problem Solving & Teamwork: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and a collaborative mindset when working across technical and business teams.
