We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for a well established client of ours in the food manufacturing industry. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities of maintenance operations in a 24/7 Industrial Food Manufacturing Facility on a shift basis while establishing and contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Responsibilities
-Supervises maintenance personnel and establishes priorities in maintenance schedules as well as scheduling shift resource requirements.
-Manages maintenance personnel by setting direction and priorities & schedules.
-Provides training and continuous development on all maintenance personnel.
-Perform regular Performance Evaluations on direct reports, providing feedback to the management and team members about their performance.
-Participates in the hiring of new maintenance employees.
-Monitors and tracks the procurement budget allocated for maintenance supplies, including process and purchase orders and receipt of ordered parts.
-Ensures that a sufficient inventory of parts is maintained to keep the equipment running.
-Plans and arranges repairs and maintenance, including the preventative and scheduled maintenance, and managing work orders through the CMMS .
-Prioritize and assign tasks for the team, liaising with other departments as needed.
-Ensures that the equipment is maintained in order to meet production schedules.
-Work to improve Health and Safety and HACCP and SQF standards.
-Participates in the selection of new equipment and their installation.
- Choose parts to keep technologies up-to-date.
-Participates in the selection of contractors and supervises their work.
-Oversee Environmental and Sustainability program.
-Organize and monitor contractors working on the facility as required.
-Advise on capital requirements and facilitate resources as required.
-Act as primary building manager, being point of contact for facilities contractors, services, utilities etc.
Qualifications
-Recognized technical certifications in Mechanic or Electric fields.
- 7 years of experience in Maintenance, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- 2 years of experience leading teams
-Should be willing to come in on night shifts at least twice a month.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Excellent communication and coaching skills
-Detail oriented and organized
-Autonomous, motivated and directive, while being able to train others
-Ability to write working papers
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints , draw plans, equipment and parts,
-Excellent knowledge in mechanics, industrial electricity, refrigeration, hydraulics and pneumatic automaton and instrumentation.
-Proficient computer skills in spreadsheets; data bases and word processing
-Strong background in HAACP; safety and GMP.
-Must have a hands-on work ethic, and excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
-Knowledge of PLC and ability of troubleshooting electrical issues is an asset.
