Responsibilities
âą Maintain, monitor, and optimize Oracle 10g/11g/12c/19c databases in complex multi-tenant setups
âą Perform database optimization, performance tuning, backup and recovery, capacity planning, and security configuration
âą Lead Oracle database upgrade and migration projects, including migration to Oracle 19c and cloud environments
âą Configure and support Oracle systems on Windows, Solaris, and Linux platforms
âą Ensure compliance with security and privacy standards, implementing appropriate auditing controls
âą Assist in implementation and management of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, OEM 13c, TDE, and replicated database solutions
âą Document all technical processes and architecture to ensure smooth knowledge transfer
âą Communicate effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
âą Support both on-premise and GoCloud database environments
âą Participate in impact analysis and planning for patching and upgrades
Qualifications
Must Have:
âą 10+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration
âą Strong knowledge of Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c environments
âą Proven experience in database migration and cloud transformation initiatives
âą Deep understanding of database security and auditing (privacy and compliance focused)
âą Familiarity with Oracle tools including RAC, OEM, Data Guard, and TDE
âą Experience working in multi-tenant database environments and high-availability systems
âą Expertise in documentation for technical teams and knowledge transfer sessions
âą Strong communication skills â verbal, written, and interpersonal
Nice to Have:
đ§± Experience with OBIEE, Case Management, or ERP platforms
đĄ Experience with middleware, gateways, or distributed data systems
đ§Ș Familiarity with vulnerability remediation and cybersecurity best practices
đĄ Awareness of emerging IT trends in database and cloud ecosystems
đ Understanding of Ontario Government architecture and technology stack standards
