Our client is looking for a Technology Architect for a contract role of 9 months with the flexibility of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, based in Toronto.

Responsibilities
• Provide operational and technical support for mainframe IMS & DB2 infrastructure
• Plan, implement, and maintain software upgrades, patches, and refreshes
• Oversee transition activities and guide team resources during migration phases
• Lead decommissioning efforts for legacy mainframe systems and software
• Create and maintain Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for technical changes
• Participate in incident and problem resolution; meet SLA metrics for ticket closure
• Contribute to modernization and software cost optimization initiatives
• Support documentation and knowledge transfer for transformation and operational continuity
Qualifications
Must Have:
• 10+ years of experience supporting and overseeing mainframe IMS & DB2 infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience with large-scale enterprise service replacements and migrations
• Strong familiarity with modern Data Centre service models and approaches
• Hands-on experience with complex transition and refresh initiatives
• Proven ability to manage KTLO (Keep the Lights On) activities and modernization efforts
Nice to Have:
• Recent (within 3 years) experience in public sector environments
• Strong documentation, communication, and change management skills
• Experience contributing to large data center uplifts, migrations, and decommissioning
