Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing industry, is looking for a self-motivated individual to join their team as a Shipping and Logistics Coodinator. This position is open as the previous incumbent was promoted, and they will provide comprehensive training to ensure a smooth transition. This is an immediate start opportunity. You will be an integral part of a collaborative environment, situated directly on the production floor in the shipping area, reporting to the Director of Operations. This company values strong, independent team players who are keen to contribute.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner while supervising, taking part in, and leading the pick and pack team of approximately 12 people. This Shipping and Logistics Coordinator role requires someone with strong knowledge of freight operations, international shipping, and the ability to proactively manage daily challenges to keep processes running smoothly and effectively.

Responsibilities
As a Shipping and Logistics Co-Ordinator, you will:
- Supervise, take part in, and lead the pick and pack team.
- Direct the flow of all customer orders with product from assembly, preparation to shipment.
- Use software to track, check, prioritize, and route orders.
- Prepare and oversee important documents related to International Shipping, Customs, etc.
- Inspect labels, barcodes, and other features of completed orders.
- Pick and pack orders while leading the team.
- Control the budget of the shipping department.
- Collaborate with Production Planner, Purchaser, and other staff to optimize processes.
- Resolve issues regarding shipped orders, including rescheduling carriers or addressing blips in the day.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies.
- Manage the coordination of international shipments and deal with couriers and freight companies.
- Arrange pickups and coordinate with freight forwarders while maintaining accuracy
Qualifications
- Education or experience in Shipping, Pick & Pack, or a related field; high school diploma is mandatory, with a post-secondary diploma preferred.
- Solid knowledge of logistical procedures and how freight works.
- Understanding of Custom requirements and experience preparing international shipping documents, including EDI.
- Experience in using NetSuite, Excel, and Gmail is highly valued.
- Prior inventory experience is preferred.
- Experience in directing and evaluating co-workers.
- High energy, diligence, and strong problem-solving skills, especially for time-sensitive situations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal in English).
- Must be comfortable in a collaborative and consensus-oriented organization.
- Ability to follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies.
- A "roll up the sleeves and get it done" mentality; someone who can help out on the floor when needed.
- Strong independent work ethic and ability to thrive within a team atmosphere.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a moderate to fast-paced environment.
