right to know

At the client site, you should know the hazards you may be exposed to and be informed on how to safely perform your assigned job duties. Make sure you receive job specific training. Ask questions when you are unsure of something. Example: Speak up if you have not been trained on the hazardous materials (like cleaning products) that are being used, handled, or stored at your workplace.

If you see anything at the client site that may be a concern, be sure to let your supervisor or Randstad representative know. Example: Inquire at your assignment how you can participate in health and safety, or be sure to check out the Health & Safety committee at your worksite.

right to refuse work

If you believe a task or environment is unsafe or might endanger others then you have the right to refuse unsafe work. Speak to your supervisor and Randstad representative if something is unsafe.Example: If a piece of equipment is missing a safety guard, or you are not trained to work on a task, speak to your supervisor about your safety concerns.

additional health and safety resources

At Randstad, we care about your Health and Safety, and it is important to know what H&S resources are available.

  • A Health & Safety Committee is an advisory group of people committed to improving health and safety conditions in the workplace. It is composed of both workers and management representatives.
  • A Health and Safety Representative is a worker who identifies health and safety problems at work and recommends ways to correct these problems.
  • A Health & Safety Representative may be required in a smaller workplace or where there is no Health & Safety Committee.

Take the time to know who is on your worksite H&S Committee or who your H&S Representative is at your worksite should you have any H&S concerns. If you need more information on H&S be sure to check out:
