Position Overview
- Shop Location: Thorsby, Alberta (Candidates must live within a 45-minute commuting radius).
- Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
- Base Compensation: $23.00 to $24.00 per hour, plus uncapped overtime opportunities to significantly boost your overall earnings.
- Standard Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
Heavy Wire Feed Production: Run FCAW and MCAW processes in the flat position, putting down serious wire on heavy industrial projects alongside seasoned journeymen.
Large-Scale Fabrication: Construct heavy structural frameworks, massive steel I-beams, and complex tower sections directly from engineering blueprints.
Jig and Standoff Work: Use customized shop jigs and execute advanced standoff welding techniques to maintain exact manufacturing tolerances on every single piece.
Safety and Bay Maintenance: Keep your workspace clean and organized while strictly following our heavy-manufacturing safety rules so the entire crew stays safe.
Qualifications
Apprentice Status: You must be actively registered as a 1st or 2nd-Year Welder Apprentice in Alberta (we give strong preference to 2nd-year candidates).
Previous Experience: Ideally, you bring about 2,000 verified hours in your bluebook and a solid understanding of how a busy fabrication shop operates.
Core Skills: Demonstrated, hands-on ability with FCAW, MCAW, or MIG welding processes on heavy structural steel.
Local Commute: You must live within a 45-minute drive of our Thorsby shop and possess reliable daily transportation.
Bonus Points: Holding active CWB tickets is a massive advantage and guarantees your resume gets immediate attention.
