Responsibilities
Safely fit, assemble, and weld structural steel components using FCAW and SMAW processes.
Read and interpret structural blueprints and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate builds.
Operate common shop equipment, such as cutting torches and overhead cranes, to prepare materials.
Collaborate seamlessly with fitters, the wider fabrication team, and Quality Control to maintain excellent standards.
Actively participate in our strong safety culture, including routine hazard assessments.
Qualifications
Trade Certification: Certified Journeyperson or registered Apprentice Welder.
Assets: Valid CWB all-position welding tickets (FCAW/SMAW) are highly advantageous.
Experience: Proven background in a structural fabrication shop environment, ideally with hands-on experience building heavy structural steel or skids.
Technical Skills: Strong blueprint reading and layout capabilities, backed by the ability to consistently execute precise, tolerance-critical fit-ups.
Professional Attributes: Detail-oriented, highly dependable, and motivated by a collaborative, team-first attitude.
Logistics: Reliable transportation to and from the Acheson facility.
