Our hiring push for early 2026 is focused on tank and gauged metal fabrication for the Night Shift team. This is a fantastic opportunity for dedicated apprentices to secure a long-term role with guaranteed conversion to permanent status.
Night Shift Details:
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM (4x10s or 4x11s)
Optional Overtime: Available Fridays or Sundays (Night Shift)

Night Shift Premium: +$3/hour
3rd Year Apprentice (Preferred): $34.50 – $37.20/hour
2nd Year Apprentice (Preferred): $29.25 – $31.50/hour
Performance-Based Pay: Your wage reflects your skill and on-the-job performance, not just your schooling. Early raises are common for high-performing apprentices.
Overtime: Paid after 44 hours/week or 9 hours/day. Optional OT available Friday and Sunday nights.
Permanent Opportunity: Temp hours contribute toward probation, and full benefits become active immediately upon permanent conversion.
Shop Gear Provided: Tools, safety glasses, and gloves are supplied. Employees only need to bring their helmet, boots, and hard hat.
Pre-Employment Requirement: Mandatory Drug & Alcohol test (THC tolerant—no use on-site).
Responsibilities
Construct and weld structural steel assemblies, including columns, beams, trusses, and related components, in accordance with detailed drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
Produce high-quality welds using FCAW and MCAW methods, meeting both production and safety standards.
Perform welding in all positions—flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead—while ensuring full compliance with CWB regulations.
Read and apply technical documentation, including welding procedure specifications (WPS), shop drawings, and weld symbols, to guide fabrication work.
Operate fabrication equipment safely, such as grinders, cutting torches, overhead cranes, and other shop tools, while performing routine maintenance as needed.
Collaborate effectively with fitters, quality control staff, and fellow tradespeople to maintain smooth workflow and on-time project delivery.
Promote a safety-conscious, cooperative environment to support an organized and productive shop.
Inspect finished welds visually and perform any necessary touch-ups or corrections to ensure compliance with quality standards and codes.
Qualifications
Target Audience: We are seeking candidates at the 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice level (or with equivalent hands-on experience).
Work Type: Structural and gauged metal fabrication, concentrating on welding and fitting tanks.
Welding Processes: Must have practical experience with Flux Core (FCAW) and Metal Core (MCAW). Proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding is also required.
Fitters: Capable of reading blueprints, laying out, positioning, aligning, and securing components for welding according to detailed drawings. Apprentice Sheet Metal Workers with fitting experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Preferred Assets:
CWB certification (beneficial but not mandatory for shop roles)
Experience welding Aluminum or Stainless Steel
Legal eligibility to work in Canada
Hiring Process:
Behavioral Interview: Seeking candidates who are upbeat, personable, and hardworking.
Drug & Alcohol Test: Mandatory 5-panel Work-to-Fitness D&A screening.
In-Person Weld Test: Focused on Flat/Horizontal (1F/2F) positions using MIG (GMAW).
