We are looking for a reliable, safety-focused apprentice to join our specialized fabrication team in Nisku. In this position, you will contribute to the construction of complex jacketed piping systems and other high-integrity industrial assemblies. Responsibilities
Jacketed Piping Fabrication & Blueprint Compliance
Lead the assembly of complex, dual-layer jacketed piping systems, ensuring all sections are accurately constructed according to P&IDs and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
High-Precision Fabrication & Component Work
Carry out detailed fabrication tasks such as cutting, threading, alignment adjustments, and part modifications, consistently delivering work that meets strict quality standards and tight tolerances.
Joint Integrity & Pressure Testing
Act as the subject matter expert for final flange alignment and perform hydrostatic and pneumatic tests to verify that all connections meet stringent safety, performance, and leak-free standards.
Modular & Skid Assembly Support
Assist with building skid-mounted and modular systems by installing valves, pipe supports, and structural elements, ensuring proper mechanical integration, secure installation, and full alignment across assemblies.
Qualifications
This position is designed for a fully qualified 3rd-Year Pipefitter Apprentice with proven technical skills. It is not an entry-level training role, so please apply only if you meet the qualifications below with confidence:
Mandatory Certification
Candidates must hold a valid 3rd-Year Apprentice Pipefitter ticket and be officially registered in the apprenticeship program.
High-Pressure System Experience
Hands-on experience assembling complex flange connections in high-pressure industrial environments is required.
Pressure Testing Expertise
Ability to perform, document, and evaluate both hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests according to all safety protocols and quality standards.
Component & Victaulic Knowledge
Strong familiarity with Victaulic piping components, including correct gasket selection, positioning, and sealing techniques for secure, durable connections.
Dimensional & Torque Accuracy
Skilled in selecting the correct studs, bolts, and gaskets for various flange ratings and applying torque precisely to meet engineering specifications and achieve leak-free assemblies.
Quality Workmanship
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, producing consistent, reliable results that minimize rework and maintain high project standards.
Professionalism & Team Orientation
Dependable, safety-conscious, and collaborative, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, team-driven fabrication environments.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must provide their own essential hand tools and have reliable transportation to the Nisku facility.
