Based out of our Nisku fabrication shop, you’ll play a key role in building jacketed piping systems and assisting with large-scale industrial projects that demand precision, mechanical aptitude, and unwavering commitment to safe work practices.
In this role, you’ll help create tight-tolerance, leak-free piping assemblies and contribute to specialized fabrication tasks that meet strict quality, durability, and performance standards.

🕕 Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
Jacketed Piping Fabrication & Installation
Execute precise fabrication and field installation of jacketed piping systems. Interpret P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, and routing instructions to confirm all joints, alignment points, and configurations follow engineering requirements and project standards.
Pressure Testing & System Validation
Utilize solid knowledge of bolt-up practices and hydrostatic testing to verify system integrity. Confirm all high-pressure components meet strict safety protocols, operational expectations, and leak-mitigation criteria.
Precision Work & Component Alignment
Handle detailed fabrication tasks such as threading, controlled torque application, accurate alignment, and minor fit-up adjustments. Construct jacketed spools with careful attention to accuracy, consistency, and overall workmanship quality.
Module Assembly & Mechanical Integration
Assist in assembling modular skids and units by installing piping supports, valves, fittings, and instrumentation within complex multi-part systems, ensuring smooth mechanical interaction throughout each build.
Quality, Safety & Craftsmanship Expectations
Maintain a high standard of accuracy and reliability while following all applicable safety procedures. Foster a safe, efficient work setting and ensure quality is upheld at every fabrication stage.

Required Certification
Applicants must be formally registered as a 3rd-Year Apprentice Pipefitter to be considered for this opportunity.
Core Technical Competencies
This role demands hands-on mechanical assembly experience and strong precision-fabrication capabilities. Successful candidates will show proficiency in the following areas:
Flange Fit-Up & Bolt-Up
Capable of completing accurate flange alignment and bolt-up on high-pressure systems while maintaining tight tolerances and producing secure, long-lasting connections.
Pressure Testing Expertise
Practical background in preparing, conducting, and assessing hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure tests, including proper documentation and confirmation of test outcomes.
Victaulic System Knowledge
Familiarity with Victaulic-style piping, with the ability to select and install the correct gaskets and components to achieve dependable, leak-free joints.
Component Selection & Sizing
Skilled in choosing appropriate studs, bolts, and gaskets based on pressure ratings, flange classes, and engineered specifications.
Precision Torque Application
Proven ability to apply torque to exact specifications to ensure uniform, tight, and leak-resistant mechanical assembly.
Industrial Fabrication Experience
Background working with complex piping or mechanical assemblies in shop, field, or industrial construction environments.
Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation
