Responsibilities
In this role, you are all things accounting and finance, you are running the show.
· Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable for national membership and the Ottawa office
· Budget allocation within the accounting system
· Maintaining general ledgers and accounts
· Administering bank statements and reconciliations.
· Maintaining internal accounting procedures and fund transfers
· Administering banking procedures (transfer of funds, credit card payments)
· Preparing ledger entries and reconciliations and reports
· Preparing financial reports/audits as needed
· Preparing digital and paper information storage systems
· Processing reimbursements to union volunteers for travel costs, etc.
· Managing payments to the international union and the collection system
· Processing & managing payroll
· Administering benefits and benefit payments
· Processing payments for wage replacement
· Maintaining payroll deductions, including union dues
· Preparing tax payments and required governmental reporting
· Preparing payroll statements as required
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a QuickBooks guru with experience working in an independent role.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll and accounting
· Experience with QuickBooks Online
·Familiar with Office 365, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, Online Banking Functions
·Able to work independently
