Responsibilities
In this Accountant role in Markham, you will be responsible for the following:
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory control for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, including cycle counting and variance analysis.
- Ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity and proper inventory valuation within the ERP system.
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding and approval, and prepare scheduled payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Generate customer invoices based on shipments and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts.
- Record essential journal entries related to inventory adjustments, accruals, and expense allocation.
- Support the timely and accurate month-end close process by verifying account balances and providing supporting schedules.
Qualifications
We are looking for the following for this Accountant role located in Markham:
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience across all aspects of the function
- A bachelor’s degree in either business administration or accounting.
- Experience working with SAP or similar systems is required.
- Experience working with inventory and inventory control is a firm requirement.
