Responsibilities
As the Accounting Technician, you will be responsible for the integrity of the financial cycle and provide direct support to the Operations team. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Accounts Receivable & Payable: Preparing sales invoices and managing vendor relations, including billing inquiries and payment remittances.
- Banking & Treasury: Processing bank payment requests through TD and Bank of America (BoA) platforms; performing monthly bank monitoring.
- Operational Support: Providing direct financial governance support to the Operations team to ensure project and department accuracy.
- Reporting: Preparing and updating monthly cost-tracking reports and financial summaries.
- Document Management: Managing all financial correspondence (emails, invoices) and overseeing digital document archiving and record-keeping.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Language: Strong French language skills are required (Bilingualism in English is a significant asset).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and experience with online banking platforms (TD/BoA).
- Attributes: Strong organizational skills, a high degree of autonomy, and the ability to work onsite in Thurso.
