This role is based in our Nisku facility. With a heavy project backlog for energy and infrastructure sectors, we need operators who are ready to put their heads down and ensure our vessels meet the highest NDT standards.
The Schedule: Day Shift
Shift: Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (4x10s).
Wage: $30–$38/hr (Based on experience and proficiency).
The Perk: Enjoy a permanent 3-day weekend every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Responsibilities
Precision Back-Gouging: Utilize Carbon Arc Gouging (CAG) to remove weld defects and prep the backside of seams on pressure vessels for 100% penetration welds.
Defect Removal: Identifying and removing slag, porosity, or inclusions to ensure all joints pass X-ray and UT inspections.
Material Prep: Cleaning and prepping heavy plate edges and nozzles according to shop drawings and ASME standards.
Production Flow: Maintaining a steady pace to ensure the fitters and sub-arc operators are never waiting on prep work.
Qualifications
Gouging Expertise: Proven experience with heavy-duty Air Carbon Arc Cutting (CAC-A) equipment. You must be able to maintain a consistent depth and groove profile.
Vessel Experience: Familiarity working on pressure vessels or large-scale tanks is highly preferred.
Tough-As-Nails Attitude: This is a "grit-and-grind" role. You must be comfortable working in a high-heat, noisy, and industrial environment with a heavy workload.
Quality Focused: A "zero-failure" mindset. You understand that your work is the foundation for a code-quality weld.
Journeyman Status: Journeyman Welders or Boilersmiths are a major asset and will be placed at the higher end of the wage scale.
