The Alliance Auditor will play a critical role in safeguarding financial and operational integrity across complex collaborative projects. This position is responsible for examining financial records, assessing compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, and identifying risks within alliance-based delivery models. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in auditing “open-book” commercial frameworks and ensuring transparency in cost and performance reporting.

Responsibilities
•Ensure company and project activities comply with applicable regulations, internal policies, and contractual obligations
•Develop and execute audit plans, including post-payment audits and detailed financial reviews
•Validate financial records and “defined costs” to ensure accuracy, legitimacy, and contract compliance
•Prepare comprehensive audit reports outlining findings, non-conformances, and actionable recommendations
•Evaluate operational and financial risks and maintain up-to-date risk registers
•Monitor and track implementation of audit recommendations to ensure identified gaps are resolved
•Assess alliance performance against key result areas, including cost, efficiency, and delivery targets
•Review alliance commercial frameworks, including Target Outturn Cost (TOC) models and shared risk/reward mechanisms (pain/gain)
•Analyze data from multiple sources (e.g., claims, financial records, reports) to support audit conclusions
Qualifications
Qualifications / Certifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline (preferred)
•Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, CFE, or equivalent
•Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, internal audit, internal controls, or project accounting
•Proven experience working with collaborative contracts, preferably within Alliance or IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) environments
•Strong understanding of:
oOpen-book accounting principles and alliance commercial models
oTarget Outturn Cost (TOC) and shared risk/reward frameworks
oCost verification methodologies for defined and allowable costs
oPerformance evaluation metrics within alliance structures
oCompliance, risk identification, and cost optimization opportunities
oCommercial and procurement processes within alliance frameworks

•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
•Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
•Familiarity with audit and data analytics tools
