As a Risk Analyst II, you will join an energetic Global Anti-Money Laundering (GAML) Operations team dedicated to detecting, evaluating, and deterring risks associated with money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions compliance enterprise-wide. This exciting role offers you the chance to bring your expertise to a premier organization, tackle real-world financial risk, and make a measurable impact on protecting the business and its clients.

Responsibilities
• Conducting thorough analytical reviews of transactional activity to identify risks, emerging trends, and potential suspicious activity.
• Determining whether deeper investigation is warranted and escalating non-standard, high-risk transactions or activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Managing and prioritizing daily workload to consistently meet key productivity and SLA metrics (targeting 10 completed alerts daily).
• Utilizing internal systems, multi-step workflows, and databases to screen information against global lists, guidelines, and compliance standards.
• Serving as a subject matter expert on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF), Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption policies.
• Supporting operational improvement by identifying efficiencies in workflows, reporting, and process execution.
• Maintaining full compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and risk management guidelines to protect organizational interests.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
• 2+ years of experience as a Risk Analyst or in an AML/investigative operations role within a regulated environment.
• Solid knowledge of AML standards, core operations, investigative procedures, rules, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong technical proficiency with computer applications, including advanced comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritize multi-step tasks under deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the discretion required to handle sensitive customer and transaction data.
Nice-to-Haves:
• Prior experience within a major Canadian bank or financial institution.
• Professional compliance certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or ACFCS (Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists).
