As an AML Operations Quality Assurance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in evaluating money laundering and terrorist financing risks. Operating within a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for conducting rigorous quality check reviews across various money laundering investigation activities to support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) requirements. Working primarily independently while collaborating across teams to calibrate findings, you will serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and helping to refine internal policies and programs.
• Contract Duration: 1-year (12 months) assignment.
• Extension & Conversion: Strong potential for contract extension or permanent conversion based on volume and performance.
• Work Model: Hybrid work arrangement. You will work on-site 2 days per week at the Toronto office (79 Wellington Street West), with the remaining days remote. Please note: Training will be 100% in-office during the first month.

Responsibilities
• Conduct detailed quality check reviews on cases and alerts to evaluate ML/TF risks as part of the overall AML/ATF control framework.
• Evaluate suspicious account activity, effectively documenting recommendations regarding account retention and regulatory reporting.
• Provide trend analysis of AML/ATF findings and gaps to upper management for review.
• Assist with developing, drafting, and updating written policies, procedures, and programs to minimize compliance breaches.
• Manage daily workload independently to consistently meet SLA requirements for quality and productivity.
• Serve as a knowledge and process expert, assisting team members and representing the QA function on key initiatives.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
• Education & Experience: University or college degree, along with 8+ years in the banking industry/financial crimes field, including at least 5 years of direct experience in AML investigations and STR filing.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of related regulations, including the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA).
• Risk Assessment: Proven experience assessing ML/TF risks across various customer and product types, with the ability to clearly articulate findings in recommendation summaries.
• Technical & Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, sound decision-making judgment, ability to handle confidential data, and proficiency with databases and MS Office.
Nice to Haves:
• Certifications: ACAMS certification is strongly preferred.
• QA Experience: Prior experience specifically in an AML Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Control (QC) role.
