Responsibilities
Platform Architecture & Design: Design and implement a secure, scalable Microsoft Fabric-based data platform architecture, seamlessly blending Azure Data services with enterprise integration standards. Cloud Engineering: Assess, recommend, and configure Azure-native technologies for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, advanced analytics, and long-term storage. Pipeline Integration: Engineer integration workflows, pipelines, data models, and access control matrices to connect existing, diverse organizational data sources to the Fabric ecosystem.
Policy & Governance Translation: Evaluate cloud security policies, IM/IT architecture standards, and data protection controls to translate them into practical platform configuration decisions.
DevOps & Engineering Standards: Establish rigorous engineering guidelines for Azure DevOps pipelines, automated testing, quality gates, custom system monitoring, and alerting practices.
Technical Documentation: Draft platform design artifacts, workflow definitions, API technical interface documents, secure data transfer schemas, and deployment/operational runbooks.
Innovation & Enablement: Evaluate evolving cloud capabilities, AI/ML tools, and analytics features to ensure compliance, while providing technical enablement through hands-on workshops and knowledge transfer sessions.
Qualifications
Core Experience Baseline: Minimum 10 years of dedicated professional experience performing the requirements of an Application/Software Architect (Level 3).
Education: Holds a university degree in Science (Computer Science or Programming) or Engineering (Software or Systems Engineering).
Cloud & Platform Expertise: * Minimum 8 years of experience architecting advanced data analytics solutions on cloud platforms.
At least 5 years of experience leading complex, enterprise-grade data implementation projects across multi-department systems.
Mandatory Cloud Certification: Must hold a valid copy of at least one of the following certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Technical Domain Knowledge (Scored Asset Criteria):
Demonstrated deep experience building and optimizing complex ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and transform data.
Strong hands-on background utilizing big data tools such as Apache Spark, Databricks, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Lake.
Experience leveraging Microsoft DevOps tools to automate workflows for CI/CD on Major Projects (valued over $10M).
Asset Certifications: TOGAF 9, Databricks certifications, Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent credentials.
