During the construction phases of the project the Maintenance Supervisor will participate in the project efforts and perform work related to the project. Job ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager. During the construction phases of the project the Maintenance Supervisor will participate in the project efforts and perform work related to the project. During and upon project completion the position will be responsible for the following:• Lead the maintenance group i.e. schedule, train, supervise and motivate maintenance employees• Developing and implementing a (proactive) maintenance program• Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations• Track expenses and oversee the budget for maintenance• Oversee the maintenance of all machinery to ensure it’s at working standards• Create and implement maintenance procedures• Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems• Plan and manage all repair and installation activities• Ensure all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures• Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates• Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs• Hiring subcontractors for specialized maintenance work and coordinate work performed by outside vendors• Ensure the facility complies with all industry regulations and standards Core competencies defined for this jobDecision-makingFlexibility and ability to adapt*Health and safetyRigourCoachingTeam leadershipQualifications• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field a plus; Industrial Millwright or Electrician certification an asset• 3+ years’ experience in maintenance supervision / management role preferred• Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems including PLC’s• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Previous experience working in the paper mill industry is an asset #revealyourpotential  #LifeAtCascadesCascades believes in the success of an inclusive organization that values diversity within its team.
