We are seeking a driven and hands‑on operations leader to help us take our manufacturing performance to the next level. As an Asset Owner, you will play a key role in the daily management of the recycled fiber department, driving both people and process performance in a fast‑paced paper mill environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operations Supervisor, Production Superintendent, or front‑line manufacturing leader who thrives on coaching teams, optimizing processes, and creating a strong safety and performance culture.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of a production line or asset area, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing. You will work closely with operators, maintenance teams, and technical resources to keep the lines running smoothly and to drive continuous improvement.
Your core responsibilities include:
Daily Operations Leadership
- Oversee day‑to‑day production activities, including performance validation, time loss tracking, and operational troubleshooting.
- Review and follow up on all quality tests completed in the previous 24 hours.
- Share operational learnings and best practices across asset areas.
- Cover the watch period during the week according to the schedule, answer calls related to operational problems, lack of raw materials, labor shortages, and electrical/mechanical maintenance issues.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead your Line Centric Team (LCT) in creating and executing a daily action plan focused on addressing losses and preventing recurrence.
- Support operators in owning and improving key Daily Management System (DMS) elements, including Daily Rhythm & Schedule (DRS) and Clean, Inspect, and Detect (CID).
- Provide coaching, feedback, and development to build a strong, capable front‑line team.
Process Ownership and Improvement
- Own the DRS schedule, including shift huddles, LCT meetings, and production meetings.
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve CID processes while ensuring operators follow standard practices.
- Update CID documentation as needed to support sustainability.
Health, Safety, and Compliance Leadership
- Serve as a visible role model for Occupational Health & Safety expectations.
- Conduct safety audits, participate in incident investigations, and support root cause analysis.
- Champion initiatives that promote clean, orderly, and safe work environments.
This role includes participation in an on‑call rotation is shared across the leadership team to ensure balanced workload and support.
