Responsibilities
Claims Management & Resolution: Proactively manage moderately complex auto and property claims from inception through completion via phone and written correspondence, delivering a fair, empathetic, and consistent customer service experience.
Policy & Liability Investigation: Interpret policy wordings, determine coverage eligibility, and conduct thorough liability investigations, leveraging internal expertise and external vendor resources appropriately.
Financial Evaluation & Reserving: Quantify total loss values by evaluating input from appraisers, third-party adjusters, contractors, and repair facilities, ensuring accurate and appropriate reserve establishment throughout the claim lifecycle.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate third-party vendor services and maintain accurate, up-to-date claim records in full compliance with company standards and claims management system policies.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on evolving insurance legislation, market trends, and industry best practices while executing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Licensing & Certification (Mandatory): Must possess an active Claims Adjuster Permit issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) in claims settlement for Quebec.
Claims Handling Experience: Proven experience independently adjusting auto and commercial claims from initial notification through final resolution.
Language Proficiency: Fully bilingual in French and English, with the capacity to conduct technical investigations, negotiations, and formal correspondence in both languages.
File & Time Management: Strong organizational skills and self-direction to effectively balance member/vendor responsiveness with proactive portfolio management without queue-based oversight.
Analytical & Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to interpret complex policy wordings, determine liability, evaluate damage estimates, and set accurate financial reserves.
Customer Focus & Negotiation: Strong interpersonal skills rooted in empathy, combined with effective negotiation abilities when coordinating with third-party vendors, repair facilities, and members.
