Most Controller roles are about maintaining the status quo. This one is about building a legacy. We are seeking a high-caliber CPA who is tired of being a "back-office function" and is ready to be a Growth Partner. Reporting directly to the CEO, you won’t just report on the past; you will architect the future of the accounting department, revamping workflows and serving as a change agent for a scaling organization.
Advantages
Why You’ll Want This Role
Strategic Visibility: You are the CEO’s right hand for long-term planning, cash flow strategy, and fund allocation.
Operational Autonomy: This is your shop. You have the mandate to overhaul workflows and set the gold standard for operational excellence.
Leadership & Legacy: Beyond the numbers, you will mentor a team, fostering a culture of accountability and high emotional intelligence.
Bilingual Influence: Use your mastery of French and English to navigate complex business landscapes and lead with diplomacy.
Salary: 110 - 120K + additional compensation - to be discussed during the interview process
Responsibilities
Growth Orchestration: Partner with the CEO on high-level financial modeling and capital allocation to fuel the company’s trajectory.
Operational Integrity: Oversee the full accounting cycle—treasury, audits, fixed assets, and insurance—ensuring the "machine" runs flawlessly.
Data Translation: Turn complex financial data into compelling narratives. You’ll deliver KPIs and quarterly reports that empower senior leadership to make bold, informed moves.
Governance & Compliance: Stay ahead of Canadian GAAP and tax laws, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring precision in government filings.
People Development: Lead from the front. You aren't just a manager; you’re a coach who steps in to fill gaps with a positive, "can-do" spirit.
Qualifications
You are a CPA who notices the small details without losing sight of the big picture. You bring:
The Credentials: A university degree in Finance/Accounting and a CPA designation.
The Experience: 5+ years of management experience where you’ve successfully led teams through change or growth.
The Language Edge: Professional-level fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).
Technical Mastery: You are an ERP "power user" and Excel expert who leverages technology to work smarter.
Emotional Intelligence: You lead with diplomacy, managing relationships with clients and colleagues as effectively as you manage a balance sheet.
