We are currently seeking a forward-thinking Full Stack Developer (AI-Assisted Workflows) to join a major enterprise in the financial services and insurance sector. This position is ideal for an experienced developer who excels at building robust web applications while leveraging modern AI-assisted coding tools to streamline delivery.
...
Operating in a hybrid model (2 days a week on-site in either Montreal or Toronto), you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical realization. Beyond core programming, you will use generative tools and specification-driven approaches to accelerate feature delivery across the entire application layer.
Advantages
AI-Enhanced Development Environment: Hands-on exposure to next-generation AI coding tools and LLM orchestration (RAG workflows).
Contract-to-Permanent Potential: Strong opportunity for long-term career growth and permanent conversion based on project performance.
Flexible Hybrid Work Model: Balanced 2-day on-site schedule designed for local professionals in Quebec or Ontario.
High-Impact Enterprise Projects: Direct contribution to modernizing critical core platforms within the financial/insurance domain.
Responsibilities
End-to-End Application Engineering: Build, enhance, and maintain full stack feature sets spanning Angular user interfaces, Java microservices, and database layers (~60% backend focus, ~40% frontend focus).
AI-Augmented Workflows: Translate functional specifications into prompt inputs for AI development tools, accelerating daily design, code generation, and test coverage.
Business & Technical Collaboration: Partner closely with business analysts and IT stakeholders to translate insurance domain concepts into scalable software designs.
Quality Assurance & Testing: Implement automated frontend and backend testing suites (Jest, JUnit 5) to ensure secure, resilient code releases.
Containerization & Deployment: Package and containerize applications using Docker and Maven within modern CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications
Full Stack Expertise: 5 to 7 years of professional experience delivering web applications using Angular (TypeScript, Material) and enterprise Java (Jakarta EE / Java 17+).
Database Proficiency: Solid understanding of relational database modeling, complex SQL queries, transaction management, and performance tuning.
AI & LLM Integration Exposure: Practical experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Copilot, Windsurf, Devin) along with foundational concepts in vector databases (e.g., ChromaDB) and retrieval orchestration frameworks (LangChain or Haystack).
DevOps & Testing Basics: Hands-on experience with Git, Docker, Maven, Jest, and JUnit 5.
Bilingual Communication: Fluency in both French and English is required to collaborate across cross-functional national teams.
Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.
Summary
Location: Montreal, QC or Toronto, ON (Hybrid — 2 days/week on-site)
Duration: 6-Month Initial Contract (Possibility of Extension / Perm Conversion)
Type: Full-Time Contract
Start Date: June 2026
