Mississauga, ON
Full-Time, Permanent
Day Shift (Monday – Friday)
$65,000 – $70,000 / year + Comprehensive Benefits
A leading Canadian commercial trade distributor is seeking a hands-on Branch Operations Supervisor to take complete operational ownership of our Mississauga branch.
...
In this player-coach role, you will lead a dedicated small team (trade counter customer service and warehouse fulfillment staff).
You will be the operational backbone of the site—bridging contractor order pickup at the front desk with picking, staging, and inventory accuracy in the warehouse.
If you are an autonomous, high-hustle leader who thrives on the floor rather than behind a desk, this role offers full branch ownership and direct visibility with executive operations leadership.
Advantages
$65,000 – $70,000 annual base salary.
Comprehensive health, dental, vision, paramedical, and life insurance after 3 months.
True Site Autonomy: Complete ownership of a compact, high-efficiency branch without corporate red tape.
Consistent Schedule: Predictable Monday to Friday day-shift hours. No weekends, no night shifts.
Company Discounts: Substantial employee purchase discounts across all product lines.
Direct Executive Access: Work directly alongside experienced senior operations leadership in an established, growing organization.
Responsibilities
-Daily Floor & Counter Leadership (70%+ Floor Presence): Open the branch at 7:30 AM; set the tone for daily operations, inspect facility readiness, and jump on the trade counter during morning contractor rushes to take orders and process POS/ERP transactions.
-Order Fulfillment & Staging: Oversee picking accuracy, staging workflows, and customer pickups to ensure zero errors and fast turnaround times for commercial contractors.
-Inventory Control & Precision: Conduct regular cycle counts, reconcile inventory variances in the WMS/ERP system, and supervise inbound freight receiving and stock replenishment.
-Frontline Team Management: Supervise, cross-train, and mentor a 4-person frontline team across trade counter customer service and warehouse operations.
-Safety & Facility Standards: Lead site 5S housekeeping, ensure daily pre-shift material handling equipment inspections, and maintain local workplace health and safety compliance.
Qualifications
-2 to 4+ years of operational supervisory or team lead experience in commercial building supplies, wholesale distribution, trade supply counters, or contractor-focused retail (e.g., Assistant Branch Manager, Operations Lead, Warehouse Supervisor, or Pro Counter Lead).
-The "Total Ownership" Mindset: Proven ability to walk onto a busy trade floor, immediately spot operational bottlenecks (unattended counter, staging delays, housekeeping issues), and step in to resolve them without waiting for direction.
-Dual-Track Capability: Hands-on experience balancing contractor customer service at the counter with inventory, receiving, and staging in the back.
-Equipment & Systems: Working familiarity with ERP/WMS platforms and basic MS Excel; hands-on experience or prior certification on counterbalance forklifts or reach trucks.
-Schedule: Ability to reliably report on-site in Mississauga for a 7:30 AM start Monday through Friday.
