As a building enclosure specialist, your primary objective will be to secure optimal value for building owners. Your responsibilities will involve assessing, evaluating, and designing both existing and new roofing and waterproofing systems. Effective communication with building owners, operators, architects, engineers, manufacturers, and contractors will be a key aspect of your role.

Develop detailed drawings and specifications.
Execute construction quality assurance reviews.
Oversee projects for clients from initial design through to completion.
Conduct research on products, installation practices, code requirements, and industry best practices.
Contribute to expert witness studies.
Prepare building commissioning reports.
Address project challenges or constraints.
Effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
Participate in reciprocal peer review of client-facing documents.
Engage with industry organizations (IIBEC - International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants, CSC - Construction Specifications Canada, Etc.) for professional growth and industry development.
Qualifications
Possession of an AAA Licensed Architect OR APEGA Professional Licensee or Professional Engineer credential.
Certifications such as Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC), Registered Roof Observer (RRO), and ARCA inspector are considered advantageous.
Demonstrated working knowledge of roofing and waterproofing technologies.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Familiarity with Autocad.
Capacity to assume responsibility and work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and accessing rooftops.
Adept at treading over uneven ground.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
