        Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator (6 month Contract)Our client is one of the largest producers of electricity from renewable sources in the world and they are currently in search of a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Coordinator to fill a contract role based in Conrad, AB. A per diem will be provided for travel / accommodations. Our client is known worldwide with a strong reputation providing responsible, sustainable solutions and always innovating. AdvantagesReporting to the HSE Manager – Construction, the HSE Coordinator will work closely with construction and contractors hired to perform work to facilitate a safe working environment. We’re looking for someone hardworking and committed to their job on a daily basis. The role requires a calm and approachable demeanor with good communication skills. Responsibilities•Demonstrate and ensure that the highest levels of HSE practices are being followed. This includes wearing and demonstrating the proper use of essential safety equipment, identifying potential hazards on the job, conducting incident investigations and action plans and other HSE site duties as assigned. •Ensure contractor’s compliance with their HSE policies and requirements as well as provide field HSE support for assigned projects. •Adhere to and represent strong values as defined by company philosophy, vision and HSE policy statements.•Provide support throughout construction including providing safety topics for meetings, site safety performance updates, reviewing HSE related submittals and providing status updates and outcomes of incident investigations for site related incidents. •Advance and promote excellent HSE culture across construction and contract teams and across project development striving for continuous improvement in HSE. •Provide training as necessary to project staff. Must become familiar with company specific / project specific requirements as it relates to Safety and be comfortable speaking in groups providing quality training and site-wide safety meetings. •Maintain records for all site related incidents and provide updates to the site team and corporate HSE and line managers as necessary. •Build and maintain professional relationships with outside partners and contractors throughout duration of the project, promoting contractor engagement and a positive safe work culture•Maintain PPE inventory and ensure sufficient equipment is available for site staff and visitors.•Assist in the creation of lessons learned for any incident findings that may benefit the business. •Maintain and create a site HSE Communications Board. This includes providing updates for communicated lessons learned, policy changes, updates to Emergency plans and locations of life saving equipment and updated contact lists.• Review findings and provide trending data updates to project management and construction management staff also discussing findings with contractor. •Organize HSE related activities or events specific to the site to promote safety.•Provide support to site based HSR personnel to enable effective delivery of site related tasks. •Initiate incident notification process and track investigation process through to completion and close out following company timelines and expectations. Qualifications•Minimum of 5 years HSE experience applicable to the construction of power generation and related facilities, preferably in solar construction or operations.•Working knowledge of CFR Construction and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Planning.•Knowledge of federal and local environmental requirements.•Proficient with Microsoft office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc.•Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of large groups to perform training and site wide meetings and stand downs. •Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED and NFOA70ESummaryAs this is considered a safety sensitive position successful candidate, a negative D+A test will be a pre-requisite prior to arrival and commencement of assignment.
