In this progressive contract role, you will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, operational risk specialists, and technology delivery teams. Your primary focus will be supporting risk-related data and process modernization initiatives, helping to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. This position is ideal for a junior-to-intermediate analyst who combines strong SQL proficiency, exposure to modern cloud data platforms, and excellent stakeholder communication skills to help document and enhance enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools.
Duration: 6-Month Contract (July 31, 2026 to January 31, 2027)

Responsibilities
Requirements Engineering & Process Analysis
Operational Risk Mapping: Analyze and document business processes related to operational risk, including risk identification, hierarchical assessment, and structural mitigation strategies.
Specification Authoring: Lead requirements discovery sessions to elicit, define, and document comprehensive Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and visual process workflows.
Liaison & Collaboration: Serve as a trusted technical and business conduit, confidently communicating platform requirements and progress to stakeholders across business and IT units.
Data Analysis & Platform Support
Relational Data Mapping: Apply relational data concepts to execute source-to-target mapping and document system data flows for ingestion into enterprise data lakes.
SQL Querying & Gap Analysis: Perform SQL-based data querying, gap analysis, and exploratory data validation to isolate system issues, evaluate process performance, and inform design upgrades.
Platform Enhancement: Support ongoing configuration, enhancement, and maintenance of the corporate RSA Archer GRC environment.
Agile Sprint Delivery: Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (Scrum stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews) using Jira to track requirements and ensure on-time delivery.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 2+ years of direct, hands-on professional experience operating as an IT Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst (BSA), or in a closely related technology delivery role.
Core Cloud Platform Literacy: Proven experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystems.
Project Management Tooling: Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery models with hands-on experience utilizing Jira for story tracking and requirements management.
Technical & Database Acuity: Strong SQL proficiency with the ability to write queries and analyze datasets independently, paired with a solid conceptual understanding of business requirements gathering.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills; a highly organized self-starter who exhibits confidence when engaging with business stakeholders at all levels.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Assets
Practical, hands-on administrative or configuration experience with RSA Archer or similar enterprise GRC platforms.
Prior experience working within the Operational Risk domain, with familiarity in risk terminology and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel, OSFI guidelines).
Technical exposure to Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and related cloud processing tools (Azure Synapse, Cosmos DB, Azure Databricks).
Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Industry-recognized certifications in Agile methodologies, business analysis (e.g., CCBA, CBAP), or risk management.
