Position: Business Continuity Advisor
Location: Toronto, ON (must reside in the GTA to support recovery sites in Mississauga also)
Hybrid: 4 days in office , 1 day remote
Duration: 6 months (Possibility of Extension)

Responsibilities
•Responsibility for the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Plan Development/Maintenance, to implement appropriate
•BCM contingency plans and associated controls
•Prepare business lines for potential disruption through communication and reporting processes re: Incident Management,
•Business Continuity and Recovery Strategy within area(s) of responsibility
•Coordinates tactical activities of BCM including:
oComplete Business Impact Assessments (BIA) to understand the impact of process failures
o Remain apprised of environmental and potential business-impacting BCM related risks
oConducts BCM exercises to validate planning assumptions and test controls (including work area recovery, contact exercises and simulations as required)
•Advise and recommend on continuity strategies in the identification of risks, the determination of risk tolerances, the selection of appropriate recovery strategies
•Identify gaps in application capabilities requirements working with the business and IT to resolve the gap through acceptance, work arounds or an enhancement project
•Ensures all Business Continuity Plans conform with Enterprise BCM standards
•Provide analysis and insights on function specific KRI’s to support management reporting and investigate and resolve deficiencies
•Partnering with EBCM Centralized team, Regional and Business Line Executive to coordinate and maintain a multi-discipline
•Incident Management Team to provide a resilient response to incidents
•Track outstanding audit items or regulatory findings relative to the respective business lines, as they relate to BCM, assuring established timelines are met
•Secretary to the Business Line(s) Regional Incident Management Team, maintaining a working relationship/liaison with other Crisis Management Teams
•Support business change initiatives as it relates to BCM, including completion of associated BIA, BCP and required recovery testing
Qualifications
Must have:
•1-3 years of experience Business Continuity Risk Management experience within a financial services environment, conducting risk and control assessment / process reviews, and/or key controls assessments (monitoring/testing), in a combination of knowledge,
skill and background in operational risk practices, audit or compliance functions, and/or one or more businesses.
•Project management/ Business analytics experience
• Professionalism and solutions orientation required to liaise directly with Senior Management with different lines of business.
Nice to have:
•ABCP, CBCP, University degree, or equivalent, or relevant professional qualification
•PMP
•Reporting and monitoring tools
Soft Skills:
•Strong communication, interpersonal (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
