Responsibilities
Study and prepare the plans, specifications, and drawings of the articles to be manufactured.
Trim joints and fit parts and sub-assemblies together to form a complete unit.
Create cut lists and set up machines in order to minimize waste.
Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machinery, including table saws, panel saws, and routers.
Glue and fit together assemblies or sub-assemblies.
Take charge of installing hardware components with attention to detail and precision.
Meticulously prepare materials prior to initiating the finishing process.
Ensure the quality of craftsmanship throughout all stages of production.
Qualifications
Vocational Studies Diploma (DEP) in Cabinetmaking or equivalent.
Proven experience as a cabinetmaker.
Ability to work day, evening, or weekend shifts.
Vocational training as a cabinet maker/carpenter or other related training.
Proficiency in woodworking, cabinetry, built-in units, and wood veneer panels.
Demonstrates great craftsmanship and attention to detail, working reliably, precisely, and accurately.
Ability to work in metric (an asset).
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Ability to work independently while also being a committed team player.
5 years of similar or equivalent professional work experience.
