This role is unique as you will be the subject matter expert and business owner for the capital projects portal, providing direction, training and functional support for current and future business needs. You will have full oversight of capital financial accounting, internal controls and compliance.
Responsibilities
This role encompasses 3 key areas including Capital Financial Accounting, Capital Cost Management and Project Administration. Key Responsibilities include the oversight financial accounting for capital projects, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with organizational policies and GAAP standards, the review and approval of capital-related accounting transactions, including accounts payable, cost allocations, recoveries, and reconciliations, insuring compliance with
Ontario’s Construction Act, direct testing, validation, and implementation of system changes in collaboration with ITS and operational teams; and supporting implementation of new or enhanced capital financial management solutions and assist users with issue resolution, and managing a team of AP staff.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you bring extensive experience in capital financial accounting, construction accounting, and demonstrated experience with construction-related financial compliance, including Ontario’s Construction Act. You possess strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
You also have proven experience acting as a system owner or subject matter expert for financial or capital project management systems. You also have hands on experience with approval of AP transactions in a multi-faceted environment.
Summary
This is an exciting 5 month contract role with a strong chance for extension. The role is an hourly contract paying between $45 to $55/hr pending experience.
