We are seeking a civil general superintendent for FIFO (fly-in/fly-out) assignments on major industrial and infrastructure sites. This civil general superintendent role will allow you to oversee projects that shape the future of communities, primarily in Northern Quebec, but also in Ontario and Manitoba. A civil general superintendent position where your leadership and expertise will make all the difference!
The role in brief
Title: Civil General Superintendent
Schedule: Fly-in/fly-out (28 days on / 10 days off)
Location: Northern Quebec (and other regions of Canada)
Salary: Starting from $140,000 per year

Responsibilities
Here are the tasks of the civil general superintendent:
Supervise and coordinate all construction activities, ensuring compliance with project objectives, schedules, and budgets.
Collaborate with the project manager to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and deadlines.
Optimize work methods to improve team productivity.
Ensure compliance with quality standards for materials and work execution.
Participate in site meetings and coordinate with subcontractors.
Assist the project manager with procurement and purchasing.
Regularly monitor progress and quality of work.
Manage equipment maintenance (requests, usage, maintenance).
Oversee subcontractors, draft contracts, and approve work statements.
Supervise personnel and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
Lead internal meetings and inform teams of project developments.
Guarantee site safety through regular checks and organize safety meetings bi-weekly or during major personnel changes.
Handle non-compliant operations and report issues to management if necessary.
Provide updates on project progress, budget, and site modifications.
Propose improvements to optimize team work.
Travel and reside on different project sites, as needed.
Perform any other tasks requested by their superior.
Qualifications
or this civil general superintendent role, the following skills are necessary:
5 years of experience as a general superintendent.
Solid field experience on construction sites.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and priority management skills.
Leadership, organization, and the ability to provide quality, health, and safety training.
Available for extended stays on remote or isolated construction sites.
