Responsibilities
- Perform full setups and operations on multi-axis equipment, ranging from 4/5-axis mills to large-scale lathes and horizontal boring mills.
- Utilize a diverse fleet of high-end machinery including Fanuc, Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, and Tacchi.
- Manufacture critical nuclear components (end fittings, liners, and piping) held to extreme tolerances of +/-0.0005”.
- Apply expert-level GD&T knowledge to interpret technical drawings and verify part integrity.
- Ensure all work meets rigorous nuclear regulatory standards through meticulous self-inspection.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance, including fluid management and filter changes, to maintain machine accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirement: 4 years of experience independently performing setups on multi-axis CNC machines in a high-precision environment (tolerances of +/- 0.001" or tighter).
- Solid experience with Mazak and Fanuc controls is required; familiarity with Heidenhain, Mitsubishi, or Siemens is considered a strong asset.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Machining, or a related technical field.
- Experience within the Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas, or Nuclear sectors is considered a significant asset.
- Advanced Tier Requirements (ONLY FOR TOP PAY BAND: $43 PER HOUR): Candidates must possess experience setting up and programming Mazak Integrex 650/670 series, 4-/5-axis programming in Mastercam, previous Team Lead experience, and Red Seal or Skilled Trades Ontario (General Machinist) status.
