Check it out below!ADVANTAGESWhat’s in it for you?- Salary range: $75 - 80 k (with overtime possibility)- Shift: Afternoons (3pm-11pm) - Full benefits program - medical, dental, vision, life, education + more!- RRSP program - 3% matched- Long term opportunity with upward growth potential- Two weeks of vacation - Located in Oakville, ONRESPONSIBILITIESWhat will you be doing?- Supervise and mentor a team of 12+ shift workers- Hold daily meetings to ensure the team is aware of the tasks / plan for the day- Communicating production status updates to production control on a regular basis- Making adjustments to the schedule as needed (projects, call-ins, etc)- Help troubleshoot issues on the floor - parts, machines, etc- Motivating and holding the team accountable for performance and time standards.- Monitor production and introduce continuous improvement initiatives- Contribute to production planning providing strategic reviews and action plans- Responsible for hourly workforce adherence to EHS standards, policies and practices- Establishes a work environment culture that encourages active employee participation, ownership, and diversity. - Work closely with office staff and management to coordinate work tasks, define, and drive toward team and facility goals.QUALIFICATIONSWhat do you bring to the table?- High school diploma or equivalent.- 1-3+ years experience in a supervisory role (heavy industrial preferred)- Ability to work in an environment with continuous exposure to outdoor weather, as well as dust, fumes, and noise.- Experience overseeing welding, blasting, washing, cleaning, baking and wrapping etc.- Working knowledge of railcar repair techniques and procedures, car construction, welding techniques, AAR and DOT rules and regulations.- Familiar with relevant railcar standards and regulations published by AAR, CGSB, DOT, BOE, FRA as well as Canadian TDG Act and regulations.- Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building abilities. - Proven time management, decision making and problem-solving capabilities.- Strong communication skills with a passion for leadership- Proven track record of commitment to quality and results- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to and from work.SUMMARYNice to haves:- Welding skills, NDT and WHMIS training.- MS office application experience - Proven safety performance record- Previous experience in the railway/railcar industryWe look forward to hearing from you!To apply:CALL 905.528.3400 ext 2 Ask for Mercedes and or JamieEmail resume to: mercedes.siena@randstad.caLinkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mercedes-siena/
