CNC Machine Operator (Temporary / Urgent Start)

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (No weekend rotations)

Randstad is partnering with a world-class global manufacturing leader in Edmonton to find a reliable, detail-oriented Temporary CNC Machine Operator. Due to a massive influx of new jobs and increased production demand, our client needs someone to step in immediately to help keep production moving.
In this role, you will focus primarily on running production jobs on a 2-axis CNC lathe. To optimize throughput, senior machinists on the floor will handle the primary setups, allowing you to focus on high-quality output, machine tending, and maintaining precise tolerances.
⚠️ Urgent Timeline: We need a candidate who is ready to hit the ground running. You must be available to start no later than Wednesday, May 27th (with the option to start ASAP if selected earlier).

Responsibilities
- Production Execution: Operate a 2-axis CNC lathe to efficiently run established high-volume production jobs.
- Quality Monitoring: Maintain strict part tolerances of +/-0.005” and perform regular quality checks to ensure accuracy.
- Machine Care: Perform basic machine tending, including loading/unloading parts and monitoring tool wear.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all facility safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workstation.
- Documentation: Accurately record production data and quality logs as required.
Qualifications
- Availability: MUST be able to start by May 27th (Immediate start preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proven experience operating CNC machinery—specifically CNC Lathes (Haas experience is a significant plus).
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. The ability to read G-code is highly preferred.
- Precision: Comfortable using basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to verify parts.
- Character Traits: * A strong willingness to listen, learn, and follow specific technical instructions.
- A reliable, punctual "team-player" attitude ready to help tackle a busy production peak.
- Programming: Proficient programming skills are not required for this role, as setups are provided by senior staff.
