Responsibilities
As a Senior CNC Programmer, you will be the true conductor of our production on TRUMPF equipment. Your days will be driven by optimization, precision, and problem-solving. You will be called upon to:
đ» Program Trumpf CNC machines (TruPunch, TruLaser, and Trumatic) with TruTops Boost software efficiently and reliably.
đ Read, understand, and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
đĄ Act as the go-to technical expert: advise on tool selection and manage purchase requests with suppliers.
â±ïž Manage programming priorities based on emergencies and production needs.
â»ïž Optimize sheet metal usage (nesting) to reduce material waste and organize sequences to save time.
đ§ Work closely with operators on the shop floor to resolve machining issues and adjust programs as needed.
đ Track cutting speeds (Trutops VS PaperlessParts) and analyze variances.
đ Actively participate in continuous improvement by communicating with the engineering team to implement quick solutions.
đ€ Support the quoting and new product introduction teams
Qualifications
To excel in this role, we are looking for someone who is autonomous, resourceful, and has a great capacity for learning:
âł Experience required: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
đŁïž Bilingualism essential: Mastery of spoken French and English to easily navigate our English-speaking work environment.
Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable measures to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and when its existing bilingual employees are unable to fulfill these duties.
Reporting to their English-speaking manager, who is located outside of Quebec and does not speak French, and communicating regularly with them.
đ„ïž Technical expertise: In-depth knowledge of TRUMPF TruTops (and TruTops Boost) programming software.
âïž Equipment mastery: Excellent knowledge of the limits and capabilities of CNC machines (TruLaser, TruPunch, and Trumatic) as well as various types of sheet metal.
đ Education: DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in precision sheet metal work, machining, or solid equivalent shop floor experience.
â Major assets: Knowledge of modeling with Solidworks, excellent mastery of measurement tools.
đ§ Soft skills: Quality-oriented, positive attitude, great attention to detail, and ability to easily communicate with technical and production teams.
