We are currently hiring a full-time Customer Service Representative for a leading 3PL freight brokerage in Burlington, Ontario. In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams—managing daily communications, tracking shipments, and handling critical customs documentation (PAPs/PARs). The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, thrives under pressure, and pays close attention to detail. Responsibilities
• Serve as the key point of contact as a Customer Service Representative, delivering top-tier service and proactive updates to clients and freight partners.
• Manage high-volume daily communications exceeding 150+ phone calls and emails in a energetic manufacturing & logistics environment.
• Monitor and track the movement of ongoing freight shipments across domestic and cross-border routes.
• Specialize in customs documentation, managing PAPs and PARs requirements for seamless transportation.
• Enter and update shipment details, load data, carrier profiles, and insurance documents in TransPlus TMS software.
• Engage daily with external carriers to negotiate wait times, resolve delays, and request Proof of Delivery (POD) documents.
• Collaborate closely with internal dispatch, logistics coordinators, accounting, and sales teams to resolve customer challenges quickly.
• Cross-train as a freight dispatcher to handle carrier escalations, negotiate load rates, and manage load movements during peak periods.
• Additional administrative duties as required
Qualifications
• 1 to 2 years of customer service or logistics experience, preferably within a 3PL freight brokerage or non-asset logistics firm (recent supply chain graduates or motivated candidates with high-volume hospitality experience are also welcome).
• High school diploma required; post-secondary education in supply chain management or business administration is an asset.
• Knowledge of North American customs documentation (PARs, PAPs) and road transportation principles preferred.
• Reliable transportation to commute daily to the Burlington office location.
• Ability to work standard full-time day shifts (Monday to Friday either 7am - 3:30pm or 9:30am - 6pm) in person.
• Ability to achieve strong benchmarks on standard typing (40+ WPM) and written communication assessments.
