...
In this tactical consulting role, you will play a key part in the enterprise-wide transition from legacy on-premises infrastructure to a modern cloud-native data architecture. Your primary mission will be to analyze existing data integration workflows, design scalable cloud-based pipelines, and execute the migration of legacy Informatica ETL structures into optimized AWS Glue environments using PySpark. Operating within a highly collaborative, distributed team, you will bridge legacy database environments and high-performance cloud storage, transforming complex backend workflows into clean, reliable pipelines that support real-time data discovery and downstream business intelligence reporting.
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days per week on-site at the corporate office, 3 days work from home)
Advantages
High-Visibility Migration Initiative: Drive a core cloud transformation project that directly influences data accessibility, agility, and compute speeds across the enterprise.
Modern Cloud-Native Sandbox: Deepen your practical experience with advanced cloud analytics tools, working directly with AWS serverless frameworks, data lakes, and distributed query engines.
Onsite/Offshore Coordination Exposure: Expand your project management and delivery portfolio by driving communication lines between client business teams and global delivery centers.
Stable Hybrid Autonomy: Enjoy a balanced work environment that combines collaborative on-site team alignment with the productivity of remote work-from-home days.
Responsibilities
ETL Modernization & Cloud Pipeline Engineering
Workflow Migration Strategy: Analyze complex legacy Informatica PowerCenter ETL workflows and architect efficient migration patterns to re-engineer them within AWS Glue using PySpark.
Pipeline Conversion & Optimization: Convert, test, and tune legacy mappings, complex business logic, and custom transformations into highly optimized, scalable serverless jobs.
Data Reconciliation: Develop rigorous data validation frameworks and reconciliation processes to verify data integrity and accuracy between legacy sources and cloud targets.
Ingestion Architecture: Design, implement, and support robust end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, and storage patterns within cloud environments.
Collaboration, Documentation & Delivery
Technical Specifications: Author detailed migration playbooks, technical solution design artifacts, and mapping documents for cross-team reference.
Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with corporate business lines to map reporting definitions and translate functional requests into reliable technical pipeline jobs.
Distributed Coordination: Coordinate task delivery and track implementation milestones across business stakeholders, on-site engineers, and offshore development squads.
BI Support: Partner with analytics teams to support down-stream data visualization and reporting initiatives utilizing Tableau.
Risk & Issue Governance: Proactively identify systemic data pipeline risks and environmental dependencies, driving them to a logical resolution to safeguard project deadlines.
Qualifications
Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive professional experience operating as a Data Engineer, ETL Developer, or Business Intelligence Engineer in enterprise environments.
Core Migration Skillsets: Proven, referenceable hands-on experience participating in Informatica-to-AWS Glue migration projects.
Cloud Platform Mastery: Strong technical experience building with AWS Glue, PySpark, AWS S3, and Athena, alongside associated cloud data utilities.
Legacy ETL Competency: Strong fundamental background using Informatica PowerCenter for enterprise data integration and warehouse processing.
Database & Querying Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills combined with deep functional knowledge of relational systems (such as Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server) and standard data modeling concepts.
Soft Skills: Meticulous attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills. A structured problem-solver who can drive cross-functional alignment and confidently organize dependencies across global time zones.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Assets
Practical exposure to Tableau dashboard creation and data presentation.
Experience implementing continuous integration and deployment workflows using Git and CI/CD pipelines within Agile/Scrum delivery cadences.
Conceptual knowledge of broader cloud services, including AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, and Amazon Redshift.
Summary
If you are a tech-savvy Data Engineer who pairs an absolute command of AWS Glue and PySpark with the systems-level analytical depth required to break down and modernize legacy Informatica PowerCenter workflows, this 6-month hybrid contract is an exceptional career platform. Bring your pipeline optimization precision, cloud data integration experience, and collaborative cross-team delivery style to our client's growing infrastructure engineering team today!
