Responsibilities
Strategy Execution: Support the Sector Data Leader in achieving the team’s vision and long-term strategic governance objectives.
Process Implementation: Design and deploy data governance frameworks, including data classification, business glossaries, and data quality standards.
Advisory: Guide various business units in adopting best practices for data lifecycle management and secure data transfers.
Project Integration: Translate business requirements into actionable governance tasks; manage the product backlog and draft user stories in an Agile context.
Stakeholder Facilitation: Lead workshops with internal partners and external vendors to align governance goals with operational needs.
Value Advocacy: Proactively identify and promote the tangible business benefits of robust data governance.
Qualifications
Experience: 2 to 3 years of dedicated experience in a Data Governance or Data Stewardship role.
Technical Tooling: Proven proficiency with Collibra is mandatory.
Frameworks: Solid experience defining and documenting processes, guidelines, and operating procedures.
Soft Skills: High level of autonomy, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Industry Knowledge: Previous experience within the Financial Services or Insurance industry is considered a strong asset.
Methodology: Familiarity with Agile or Lean principles is preferred.
Languages:
French: Fluent.
English: Functional proficiency for collaboration with various stakeholders.
Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.
