Responsibilities
-Govern and oversee data within assigned Lines of Business (LOB), ensuring alignment with enterprise policies and standards
-Act as the point of contact for data governance within the business line
-Support the identification, assessment, and resolution of data issues, and escalate risks where appropriate
-Advise business stakeholders on control assessments, retention and disposition practices, and remediation planning
-Participate in governance forums, providing data expertise and documentation support
-Ensure ongoing compliance with the Enterprise Data and Information Management Policy
-Work across multiple teams to align efforts and support enterprise-wide initiatives
-Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable business insights
-Maintain and manipulate data sets using Excel; support project deliverables as required
Qualifications
Must Haves:
-Minimum 3 years of experience in data governance, data quality, or data management
-Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data risks, and compliance best practices
-Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an inquisitive and collaborative nature
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting
Nice to Haves:
-Experience in banking or financial services
-Familiarity with ServiceNow and/or Collibra platforms
-Experience working in hybrid business/technical environments
-Undergraduate degree in a related field or relevant certifications in data governance, risk, or compliance
Disqualifiers:
-Candidates with a data science background focused heavily on analytics, machine learning, or modeling (this is not an analytics role)
